1&3/4" SU conversions
I have 1275 Midget and have come by 2 manifolds to fit a single 1 3/4" SU. I was wondering if it is really worthwhile to search out a suitable carb and where the best places are to look without spending to much bearing in mind it is an experiment!

The Man to answer your question is cur10k, he accesses the forum on a regular basis, he will be able to advise you.
I would think that it all depends on what you goal is ; Fast Road, Autotest, Sprint/Hillclimb or Circuit Racing.
cur10k will I am sure have the answer.

That set up is highly recommended in Vizards book. I've had & sold a couple of carbs with a manifold usually for about £50ish. Depending on the manifold you may find that the carb will foul on the closed bonnet so you will either need a small hump on the bonnet or find the correct manifold. I think Maniflow made one suitable but they are scarce & usually pricey!
Good luck!

I saw one of these fitted to a midget at Bo'ness, it was the "hump" that reminded me of it, I think it was Jock Miller's car, would I be right cur10k ? .

1&3/4" SU conversions
Thanks for the info one of the manifolds is from Peco and was originally on a mini so the bonnet fouling issue is likely to be pertinent I would have thought,
