MGF & TF Head gasket failure
However I had to retrieve said car on the breakdown trailer on monday because of -- Head Gasket Failure. So later cars dont blow head gaskets? yes they @@@@ing do! And it has only done 21,000 miles.
The usual sump full of emulsified oil is oh so familiar. Well the head is off and away for skimming and the problem was found to be poor adhesion of the neoprene trace onto the head gasket shim, in fact the sealing strips round ALL of the holding down bolts was completely un attached to the joint itself.
Makes you weep really, why cant we Brits make anything properly anymore.
Damn..

What a Bummer!
We were as far as France with ours last year. Hate to think of the head gasket going, so far from home. Got 7,000 miles on the clock just now.
Is there any early warning signs of it about to go

Yes! The early warning sign is the TF badge on the car!

I am sure I will not be lucky with my TF as I have just "stuck on" the missing "TF" letters, does this mean the head gasket is now suspect. Prudence may be the order of the day, I will remove them forthwith.

Prudence seems to have deserted our great brown leader recently!
Best watch out!
